Stereoisomeric Pd(II) Complexes with Valine

Abstract—Methods have been suggested for the synthesis and isolation of the solid stereoisomer Pd(II) com-
plexes with valine (ValH)¹ [Pd(Val)₂] and [Pd(ValH)₂Cl₂]: cis- and trans-[Pd(S-Val)₂], cis- and trans-[Pd(R-
Val)₂], cis- and trans-[Pd(R-Val)(S-Val)], trans-[Pd(S-ValH)₂Cl₂], trans-[Pd(R-ValH)₂Cl₂], and trans-[Pd(R-
ValH)(S-ValH)Cl₂]. The compounds are characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and NMR. Kinetic
and thermodynamic data for the process of cis trans isomerization of Pd(II) bisvalinates are considered.
