Abstract—Vertical sections CaF2frame2Na0.4Yb0.6F2.2 and NaFframe3Ca0.75Yb0.25F2.25 of the system NaFframe4CaF2frame5YbF3 were
studied by differential thermal analysis. A fluorite solid solution belt between phases of variable composition
Ca1frame6xYbxF2x and Na0.5frame7xYb0.5 xF2+2x was discovered. A liquidus-surface projection was constructed. The
solidification character of the solid solution is unfavorable for growth of optical-quality ternary mixed crystals.
