Abstract—Phase equilibria in MF2–YbF3–ScF3 (M = Cd, Mg) systems were studied by differential thermal
analysis. The systems are of eutectic type without intermediate phases. CdF2-, -YbF3-, and -YbF3-based
solid solutions only exist. The low-temperature stability boundary of -YbF3-based solid solution is 8335C
in the cadmium-containing system and 852C in the magnesium-containing system.
