AbstractThe heats of reactions between a gllycylglycine solution and a cadmium(II) nitrate solution at var-
ious pH values and [metal] : [ligand] ratios were measured by direct calorimetry. Temperature was varied from
288.15 to 308.15 K; KNO3 was used as a background electrolyte. The heats of dilution of cadmium nitrate solu-
tion in background electrolyte solutions were also measured in order to make the proper corrections. The stan-
dard thermodynamic parameters of complex formation between the peptide and cadmium(II) ion in water solu-
tion were calculated.
