Abstract—A dimeric oxide has been synthesized by the oxidation of tris(5-bromo-2-methoxiphenyl)antimony
with tert-butylhydroperoxide (molar ratios: 1 : 1, 1 : 2, 1 : 4) in a tetrahydrofurane solution and crystallized as
the solvate [(5-Br-2-MeOC6H3)3SbO]2 · C4H8O (I). According to X-ray diffraction data, the antimony atoms in
a binuclear centrosymmetric molecule of solvate I have a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination by the
bridging oxygen atoms in axial and equatorial positions. Short MeO···Sb contacts (3.077(3)–3.257(4) Å) have
been identified.
