Abstract— Acylation of 2-amino-5,6-dihydro-4H-cyclopenta[b]thiophene-3-carbonitrile and 2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-cyclohepta[b]thiophene-3-carbonitrile with various acids chlorides afforded the corresponding amides. Boiling ethyl 2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-cyclohepta[b]thiophene-3-carboxylate with certain acids chlorides leads to formation of the corresponding amides. The antibacterial and antioxidant activity of synthesized compounds was studied.
