Measuring the Surface Roughness Factor of the AgAu Alloys

Abstract—A combined electrochemical method is proposed for determining the not-too-high surface rough-
ness factors of metals and alloys. The method combines adsorption and diffusion-kinetic measurements. The
roughness factors for silver and Ag–Au alloys are determined, the results conforming to those obtained on the
basis of the electrical double layer capacitance measurements.
