Abstract—Electrochemical systems and active material compositions are proposed for solid-contact selective
sensors of surface-active substances (SAS). Physicochemical properties of the electrode-active compounds and
charge transfer across the interfaces and within the membrane are studied. The main electrochemical and work-
ing characteristics of SAS sensors are determined; their analytical potential is estimated.
