Abstract—An approach is developed towards studying charge and mass transfer in the electrolyte solution–
ion-exchange membrane system. The approach is based on a kinetic description of the elementary stages that
constitute the process under study, with an allowance made for the possibility that the hydrostatic pressure dif-
ference may affect the process.
