Abstract—The dissociation constants of alkali metal (bis)pyrocatechol borates of the composition
Me[(C6H4O2)2B], where Me = Na, K, Rb, or Cs, are determined in methanol and ethanol at 25°C. The dissoci-
ation constants of weak electrolytes are calculated by the Fuoss–Kraus method. The conditions are found at
which Walden’s rule, linking the substance concentration with the medium permittivity, is valid.
