Abstract—The electrodeposition and structure of Re–Pd alloy coatings is studied. The palladium content in
the alloy is shown to be virtually proportional to its concentration in the electrolyte (at the constant concentra-
tion of rhenium-containing ions) and under the conditions studied reaches 29.3 at %. For the Pd content less
than 7.6 at % only undistorted lines corresponding to nanocrystalline rhenium phase are revealed in Xframe1ray dif-
fraction patterns, whereas palladium lines are observed only at its content of 12 at % and higher. At Pd content
of 16.9 at % and higher the Pd deposit contains both nanocrystalline and coarsely crystalline rhenium in addi-
tion to palladium and probably a small amount of an intermetallic phase with the Pd0.88Re0.12 composition. The
structural changes observed with the increase in the palladium content are associated with redistribution of
deposit-absorbed hydrogen between the phases.
