AbstractThe electrochemical behavior of hydrogen peroxide and the phenolhydrogen peroxide system are
studied on a carbon black electrode modified with peroxidase. Factors that determine the sensitivity and selec-
tivity of the phenol assay and the response linearity are studied by means of a disposable biosensor with perox-
idase. The mutual influence of various factors is found to be defined by macrokinetics of the biosensor opera-
tion. The sensitivity limit is 5
10
7 M of phenol. The response is linear in the interval 5
10
7 to 5
10
6 M.
The selectivity of assaying phenol and some of its derivatives is established.
