Abstract—The effects of the Cu2+ concentration on the electrodeposition of nickel onto the glassy carbon elec-
trode is studied by cyclic voltammetry and the step potential method in a sulphate solution. It is found that when
increasing the Cu2+ concentration, the reduction potential of nickel shifts to the positive direction, the current
loops of nickel electrocrystallization narrow and the nucleation activation energy G of nickel decreases.
