AbstractThick films of Prussian blue are modeled as a binary electrolyte containing mobile cations and a
limited number (saturation effect) of redox sites which strongly interact with one another (effect of short-range
interaction). Relations following from this model for the current response of a film to small polarizing voltages
are given. Chronoamperometric data, obtained on electrodes covered with films of Prussian blue, are analyzed.
The data processing indicates the agreement of the experiment and theory. The charge transfer in the film is
limited by the transport of cations sorbed in the film from the adjacent aqueous solution.
