Abstract—General tendencies of changes in the Danube delta landscapes as a result of economic activity were
revealed due to comparative analyses of remote sensing data carried out by Landsat satellites. A spatial and tem-
poral differentiation of abrasion, accumulation, waterlogging or flooding processes was investigated on 7 key
areas of the delta according to satellite images of Landsat-5 for the years 1986–2011. For the images interpre-
tation the results of the terrestrial route into the Ukrainian part of the delta were used.

Keywords: delta, space imagery, remote sensing, abrasion, waterlogging, draining
