Abstract—The ecological and genetic features of the formation and dispersion of soils of mountain river valleys
of high-altitude zones and their difference from similar deltaic plains of Caspian lowlands are considered. Based
on complex studies of agricultural soils, the altitude limits for perennial crops depending on the position of sun-
exposure of the adjoining slopes and hydrothermal conditions of mountain river valleys are determined.

Keywords: mountain river valleys, high-altitude zone, mountain and valley soil, water and physical properties,
climate, precipitations, evaporation, hydrothermal conditions, perennial plantings
