AbstractSome geological and geomorphological features of the Sarykum dune in relation to the position of
aeolian sand sheets and the Shura-Ozen River Valley, local windrose diagrams, theoccurrence of rock fragments
and carbonate crusts in aeolian sands, and their petrography and geochemistry were studied. Conclusions on
genetic formation of the dune were made.
