Abstract—The ecological state of the Upper Volga (Yaroslavl oblast) was estimated according to population
and structural-taxonomic criteria obtained in long-term investigations of zooperiphyton in different water bod-
ies. Several levels and types of pollution were distinguished. Changes in pollution and its relation to some cli-
matic factors were also shown.
