AbstractDirect measurements of gas exchange were used to quantitatively characterize the parameters of
carbon dioxide balance in a bilberry pine forest with sufficient moisture supply. During the growing season, the
phytocenosis under study was shown to accumulate 7.568 t CO2 , or 2.044 t C, per hectare. Percent ratios of the
components of carbon dioxide balance to the annual photosynthetic carbon fixation were determined. For com-
parison, carbon balance was calculated from expert estimations of biomass increment in the phytocenosis.
