AbstractSeasonal variation in
body weight, food consumption, rectal temperature, and specific reproductive
features were studied in adult Mustela vison Schreb., M. lutreola L., and M.
putorius L. kept in cages. In these
species, body weight increased in autumn by 6, 7, and 21%, and food consumption from
September to Decem-
ber increased by 14, 20 and 59%, respectively. Rectal temperature in winter was lower than
in summer by 1
1.5°C. An increase in the size of male reproductive organs was observed from February to
March in the first
species and from March to June in other two species.
