AbstractA new Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) pulse sequence is proposed for manipulating Para-
Hydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP) at high magnetic fields. The technique enables conversion of the mul-
tiplet spin order into net polarization, which is much easier to exploit in many practical applications of PHIP.
The pulse sequence is easy to implement; moreover, it filters out all residual signals from thermally polarized
spins. Such background free detection is promising for sensitivity enhancement in NMR spectroscopy and
improved contrast in NMR imaging.
