AbstractThe influence of a magnetic field on the viscosity of dilute dispersion of spherical magnetohard par-
ticles in viscoelastic matrix, the Maxwell liquid with a single relaxation time, is studied. Calculations are per-
formed on the basis of the equation of rotational diffusion derived previously by the authors. It is shown that
the effective viscosity of magnetic fluid decreases in the presence of a field. This unexpected result is clearly
explained in physical terms.
