Abstract—Industrial methods of improving coke quality for ferroalloy production by steam treatment, steep-
ing in lime solution, and the application of flue dust have been developed. The quality of the experimental coke
is described, and the coke is industrially tested in the smelting of ferrosilicon. The improved coke boosts furnace
productivity, reduces the consumption of power and raw materials, and enhances furnace performance.
