AbstractThe distortion of the standard microlensing picture by the Galactic gravitational field is considered.
It is shown using a crude model that the effect of the Galactic gravitational field on microlensing by an approx-
imately solar-mass gravitational lens may cause significant variations in the light curve, similar to the double-
lens effect, though the probability of observing such an event is low.
