Abstract—In order to suppress the vibration and noise in the middle and low frequency band of the wheel-driven bus, this paper explores the application of the locally resonant phononic crystal in the vibration and noise reduction of in-wheel motor-driven electric buses by combining the characteristics of the band gap of the locally resonant phononic crystal in the specific frequency range. By the finite element method, the formation of symmetrical structure band gap of two-dimensional three-component locally resonant phononic crystal is analyzed. A band gap with a width of 272.5–537.3 Hz is obtained in the middle and low frequency band, and the attenuation of nearly 80 dB can be obtained through the transmission spectrum. Compared with two kinds of symmetrical phononic crystal structure, the phononic crystal plate structure which can effectively reduce the vibration noise of wheel-driven bus is obtained by changing the scatterer to adjust the band gap.
